Man- what an epic wedding weekend! Melanie & Adam hired me to capture not only their entire wedding day, but also their epic rooftop rehearsal dinner the night before up at the Hoxton’s rooftop Cabra in DTLA- where you can check out all of the fun mingling, plus heartfelt toasts and speeches by clicking here. This blog post is purely dedicated to every core moment of their wedding day experience!
We began where Melanie, her close friends & family ate breakfast nibs, enjoyed some champagne and listened to some good tunes in Hotel Figueroa’s Parador Suite, with a private terrance overlooking downtown. Melanie handed me her absolutely stunning sparkling dress, gorgeous vintage-inspired engagement & wedding rings, along with her Jimmy Choo heels, edgy metallic purse, and other heirlooms and mementos she wanted to remember the day by tangibly by:
Melanie & Adam got ready separately, until their first look together. Until that happened, they got to have a slow morning with bubbly sips, breaky bites, chill music & good company. Melanie enlisted the incredibly talented team over at Design Visage to style her hair and makeup with total pampering awesomeness. Not only that, but she grabbed her side of her wedding party to take a quick shot of a beloved, pastime favorite drink from her Chicago days- Malort:
Meanwhile, Adam got ready with his groomspeople literally across the street, at their skyline apartment overlooking west LA from their downtown digs. Jolting the place with energy came musiic blasting Tame Impala, Jungle, and other upbeat synth tunes for the group cheers they all had together with some good ol’ Don Julio:
With some understandable nerves (coming from a place of care and excitement), Adam got ready before Melanie came down from her suite under these beautiful, lush, tropical arches in a secluded spot for them to share a private moment together. They shared a few minutes together to take in the day, and spent quality time together before beginning formal family photos and some fun wedding party photos:
Inside the warehouse wedding venue, the atmosphere was cool and modern. The loft-style space featured original brick walls and large skylights that flooded the room with natural light. As guests took their seats for the ceremony, they couldn’t help but admire how effortlessly stylish and avant-garde the space was.
As the night went on, the party became more flamboyant, with guests showing off their best dance moves on the dance floor as the night went on. We also whipped out some delicious late-night snacking with fresh pizza and cocktails available.
Check out over 100 highlights from the big day- the full story, from beginning, to the very last dance!
This incredibly eclectic, chic & tropicool DTLA summer wedding could not have together without the collaboration of insanely talented & bright vendors:
